About you
Hey there! I’m Nora Ng, and I’m an illustrator. I was born in Hong Kong but grew up in Canada and moved back here 11 years ago. I was really into dragon boat racing for many years, and I was the drummer for my team. It was my teammates who first encouraged me to show off my artistic side to more people. That's how I came up with my artist name, DWD, short for Drummer Who Draws
I like to infuse a surreal, playful and wondrous vibe into all my illustrations to make people feel happy and excited when they see them.
Hiking up to High West for a sunset view is definitely one of my favourite things to do in Hong Kong. The panoramic view is absolutely stunning, with the Hong Kong skyline lit up in all its glory. So if you're ever in Hong Kong and looking for a fun and memorable way to spend an afternoon, I highly recommend hiking up to High West for a sunset view.
And finally, can you give us an idea of what you will be working on next?
Currently, I'm working on a travel-inspired art piece, and for my next project, I want to capture Hong Kong's reopening with a mixture of nature and cityscapes. Hong Kong's unique contrast between the natural world and the urban landscape provides an endless source of inspiration, and I want to create something that is visually stunning and thought-provoking. While I'm still in the early stages of planning, I'm excited to explore my creativity and see where it takes me. Ultimately, my goal is to create a piece that captures the essence of this amazing city and reflects its vibrant energy.
