“Colourful Hong Kong - Street Art Stories” is the first book dedicated to Hong Kong’s fascinating and flourishing street art scene.
Author Alexandra Unrein has observed and documented the scene since 2010 and brings its history alive in the texts and images of Colourful Hong Kong.
Alongside a rich selection of photographs, the book presents a short introduction to street art and graffiti, shares the author’s insights into the scene’s history over the past 15 years and introduces the stories of five Hong Kong and five expat artists that have been an essential part of the scene. Additionally, it provides a short introduction to the King of Kowloon and the Plumber King, Hong Kong’s first two street artists. The book’s foreword was penned by Jason Dembski, co-founder of Hong Kong’s annual street art festival HKwalls.
