A heart-wrenching retelling of a grandmother’s story from WW2 refugee to child bride to survivor of domestic violence. Set against a rapidly changing Hong Kong, A Hakka Woman is a tale of survival, womanhood and the power of a mother’s love. Retold through her granddaughter Di Lebowitz, Paupau’s story defines what it means to be a Hakka woman.
