The two great port cities of Liverpool and Hong Kong are the backdrops to this book about Dr Chris Howard’s career in Paediatrics and Family Medicine.
He writes of carefree student days and then the harrowing times as a junior doctor before arriving in the Hong Kong in 1974 to join a two- man practice where he worked until 1997.
Illustrated with over 40 contemporary photos the text covers the last golden years of Hong Kong under British colonial rule and the Handover.
The first section of the book is set in Liverpool which is seen through the eyes of a twenty-something student and junior doctor.
